A bicyclist was injured in a mishap with a dog Wednesday near Clayton.
A 31 year-old man was riding his bike around 11:00 am on Wyndfall Lane when a dog darted out of a yard towards him, causing the bicyclist to fall and sustain broken bones, according to a Johnston County Sheriff’s Office report.
Sheriff’s office spokesperson Tammy Amaon said Johnston County Animal Services is also investigating the incident.
Authorities said the dog was not on a leash. There is no word if the owner of the dog will face any charges.
According to Johnston County Animal Control ordinances it is unlawful for animals to be at large off-premises and not under direct control. The type of dog involved in the attack was not released.
