The Smithfield Town Council has approved a bid to complete the renovations to the Smithfield Civitan Field Concession Building.
JLP Carpentry of Four Oaks submitted the low bid of $14,850 for the project and was awarded the contract. Griswold Construction Group LLC had bid $17,982.
The work includes repairing the roof and exterior of the building, concession stand window, installing new counter tops, a new hot water heater and a new 3 basin sink as well as related interior carpentry repairs.
Parks and Recreation Director Gary Johnson said JLP Carpentry had performed work for the Parks & Recreation Department in the past and he was extremely pleased with their past projects.
