The Smithfield Public Works Facility will be getting some much needed upgrades.
The Smithfield Town Council has awarded a bid to renovation some of the facility. The low bidder on the project was SOHN, Inc. at $14,963. They were slightly lower than Lane Contracting that bid $15,250 on the project.
Public Works Director Lenny Branch said the renovations will consist of an ADA compliance entrance ramp coming into the facility, replacing old doors and installing commercial grade ADA compliance doors, and replacing old leaking windows.
The vote to award the bid was unanimous.
