Bid Awarded For Swift Creek School Books, Laptops

The Johnston County School Board will spend $253,589.31 for books for the new Swift Creek Middle School set to open for the first time this August.

Two companies submitted bids for an opening collection of books for a new middle school.

Perma-Bound Books submitted a bid of $249,999.87 for 14,433 books at an average cost of $17.32 per book. Follett School Solutions bid slightly more at $253,589.31 but the collection includes 14,823 books at an average cost of $17.15 per book.

Chromebooks
The board approved an unrelated bid for $146,032 to purchase 800 Chromebooks for students at the school. CDW-G was the successful bidder.
