The Johnston County School Board has approved contracts to replace the roofs at two public schools.
Eastern Corporation of Youngsville was awarded a $4.52 million contract to replace the roof at South Johnston High School. The bid came in nearly $1 million below the estimated cost.
The same company was also awarded a $1.75 million contract to replace the roof at Selma Elementary School. That bid was slightly under budget.
Johnston County Commissioners recently agreed to borrow $30.5 million on behalf of Johnston County Schools to pay for repairs and renovations at more than a dozen school campuses, including these two projects.
