Buies Creek – Campbell’s Aaron Blockmon will be one of 52 seniors participating in the FCS Bowl Sunday, December 9 in Daytona Beach, Fla.
The game will be played in front of NFL and CFL scouts at Dayton Beach Municipal Stadium, home of Bethune-Cookman. Kickoff is set for 1:30 p.m.
Blockmon, a redshirt senior, posted 580 yards on 42 catches with three touchdowns in 2018, ranking fifth in the Big South in receptions per game, fourth in receiving yards, sixth in reception TDs and fourth in yards per catch.
Campbell’s all-time leader in receiving yards (2,647), receptions (147), reception TDs (23), total touchdowns scored (25), Blockmon snagged a career-high nine catches at Monmouth, adding 76 yards, also returning a kickoff for a touchdown at Presbyterian. Named Second Team All-Big South in 2018, Blockmon is a four-time all-conference pick (2015: honorable mention All-PFL, 2016: first team, 2017: second team).
Blockmon was one of seven Camels to be named to All-Big South teams.
Campbell finished 2018 at 6-5 overall and 1-4 in its inaugural Big South season. With six wins, the Camels secured back-to-back winning seasons for the first time in the program’s modern era (since 2008), and tied an overall program record for victories.
