FOUR OAKS – The driver of a bobtail truck was seriously injured in a single vehicle accident Thursday afternoon on Interstate 95 just north of US 701.
Around 3:00pm, the southbound truck ran off the interstate into the median ripping out approximately 125 feet of guardrail cable. The truck then cross over both southbound lanes, went down an embankment on the right and slammed into a stand of trees.
The driver was transported to WakeMed for treatment of serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Traffic was backed up in both directions for several miles. The scene cleared around 7:30pm.
Thank God no one was injured in the oncoming traffic. At that time a day God was out there looking out for people.
