Goldsboro Police announced Friday that human remains found inside a freezer last Friday have been identified as an elderly woman last seen alive 10 months ago.
A medical examiner identified the frozen remains as those of 75 year-old Arma Ann Roush from 1721-B Holly Street in Goldsboro.
Ms. Roush was last seen alive in August 2015 and lived in the home with her daughter. Investigators have not been able to locate or notify any of the woman’s next of kin. The medical examiner listed her death as unknown with no apparent signs of foul play. The body was intact and not dismembered.
Police said a resident at 1723-B Holley Street received the freezer from a neighbor three weeks ago. Detectives are investigating how the 75 year-old woman’s body got into the freezer and if any other crimes have occurred since her death.
Police have issued a felony warrant for her daughters arrest. Marcella Jean Lee, 56, is wanted for failing to report the death of her mother. Authorities said more charges are expected.
