The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office has identified a body found alongside Pierce Road near Highway 50 North on Friday, December 28th.
The body was identified Tuesday as 34 year-old Jennifer Michelle Chatham of the 2800 block of Wendell Road, Wendell in the Corinth Holders community.
Around 9:00pm last Friday, a passing motorist on Pierce Road discovered the body and called 911. There was no identification on the individual.
“At this time the cause of death does not appear to be suspicious in nature but the death investigation remains ongoing,” according to Captain Jeff Caldwell in a press release issued Tuesday. “Due to the active nature of the investigation no additional details will be released at this time.”
