Body Located During Suspicious House Fire Investigation

A body was found inside a mobile home severely damaged by fire today (Tuesday).

The Nash County Sheriff’s Office, Ferrells Fire Department, and Nash County Emergency Services Fire Marshal responded to a suspicious fire this morning at 7515 Strickland Road in Bailey.

A search warrant was issued in order to search the residence and determine the cause of the fire.

Upon searching the severely damaged mobile home, a body was located in one of the bedrooms. The body is believed to be an adult male.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office also responded along with a K-9 specializing in fire investigations.

The body was removed and transported to the medical examiner’s office in Greenville, NC. An autopsy will be scheduled to determine the cause of death.
