Three people have been arrested following the death of a 34 year-old woman whose body was discovered by her mother. On November 5th, authorities said Rebecca Meert found her daughter, Jessica, age 34, deceased outside of her home in the Overview Estates community.
Security camera footage from the home reportedly showed three people in a vehicle. Two of them removed the body of Jessica Meert and left her outside the home.
William Edward Swann, age 59, John Deward Hickman, age 61, and Bryan Chad Batts, age 52, were identified and charged with felony conspiracy and concealing/failing to report a death. Swann was also charged with second degree murder by distribution for allegedly providing illegal narcotics that caused the woman’s death.
The Harnett County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday the investigation is still ongoing. No further details were released.
