Bomb Threat Forces Business Evacuation

A bomb threat briefly shut down a busy intersection and forced the evacuation of a business on Saturday.

Just after 6:00pm, someone called Sound Station & Security at 713 East Market Street and reported there was a bomb inside the building. Employees and customers were evacuated from the business as emergency workers searched for any suspicious items. After nothing was found, everyone was allowed back inside.

As a precaution, police shut down traffic near the business, including the intersection of US301 (Brightleaf Boulevard) and US70 (Market Street) for about a half hour.

Police Captain T.S. Choe said the incident has been assigned to the detectives division.
