Tuesday night, the Smithfield Town Council approved the rezoning of a 54.95 acre tract of land on Booker Dairy Road in North Smithfield.
The land, owned by Olivia Holding, is located on the north side of Booker Dairy Road about 200 feet east of the intersection with Bradford Street. There are no current plans for the property, which is next to the North Chase subdivision and North View Subdivision. It is located in the ETJ and not in the city limits.
An adjacent tract of land was rezoned from residential to commercial in March 2015.
The area is expected to see significant commercial growth once the Booker Dairy Road Extension Project is completed.
