Over $21,000 in property was taken during a break-in at Johnston Community College (JCC) in Smithfield.
Smithfield Police have confirmed they are investigating a break-in at the Maintenance Building on the grounds of JCC. The break-in was reported Monday morning.
Two vehicles were entered and one of the vehicles, a 2013 Chevy Silverado, valued at $20,000 was stolen. Pressure washers and tools worth $1,350 were also taken.
Police Captain R.K. Powell said there were no signs of forced entry into the building.
In an unrelated incident, police are investigating the thefts of three cell phones from students on the JCC campus. Those thefts were also reported Monday.
