FOUR OAKS – Deputies discovered a residential break-in after responding to a burglar alarm on Hockaday Road near Four Oaks.
The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office received the alarm call around 11:20am Thursday, Sept. 21. When they arrived minutes later, they discovered the front door had been forced open and damaged. The alarm was still activated, which may have startled the intruder, who had already fled.
No items were reported missing from the home, which was unoccupied.
In another incident, a break-in was discovered around 1:42pm that same day at a vacant home on Drag Strip Road outside of Benson. Approximately $100 in property was taken from the 83 year-old victim.
Both break-ins remains under investigation.
