SMITHFIELD – Police are investigating a break-in reported Thursday night at a Smithfield restaurant. Officers responded to a 10:23pm burglar alarm at Las Brasas at 1219 S. Brightleaf Boulevard.
Police said a cash register containing an undisclosed amount of money was stolen.
Security video revealed an unknown person completely concealed by a raincoat and hood throw a brick through the front glass door then kick in the glass before entering. The video has not been released.
Anyone who saw any suspicious activity around the restaurant around the time of the break-in, or has any information about the suspect, is asked to contact the Smithfield Police Department at 919-934-2121.
In October 2020, the same restaurant was burglarized.
