Four vehicles were broken into during a break-in discovered Wednesday at Worley Auto Sales at 2938 Highway 70 East of Smithfield.
Johnston County deputies responded to the used car lot after the owner arrived at work around 9:30am and discovered the break-in. Deputies said it happened Tuesday night or early-Wednesday morning.
The suspect or suspects made entry into a Dodge Neon, Chevy Trailblazer, Ford F-150, and Buick Rendezvous then attempted to gain entry into the business. Damages to the vehicles and business entry door was placed at just over $3,100.
Officers reportedly seized a flashlight and knife left at the scene by the suspect. Anyone with information about the break-in at Worley Auto Sales is asked to contact the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office at 919-989-5000.
