Several businesses were without water service Friday morning due to a broken water line.
The Town of Smithfield said a main water line near Zaxby’s broke. Officials said the outage impacted businesses in the vicinity of Johnston Community College to I-95 and Outlet Center Drive northward to Bob Evans restaurant.
Public utilities crews had the line repaired and water flowing again within a few hours.
Town of Smithfield Public Information Officer Tim Kerigan said no boil water notice was required.
