Burglar Enters Home With Garage Door Opener

The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office has stepped up patrols in the Strickland’s Crossroads community outside of Four Oaks following a burglary this week.

Around 7:30am Monday, a 59 year-old man awoke to discover someone had broken into his pickup parked in the driveway of his home in the 4000 block of Strickland’s Crossroads Road.

After rummaging through his truck, the suspect located the garage door opener to the victim’s home and opened the garage door. Once inside the garage the suspect entered a second vehicle removing a portable GPS unit.

The suspect fled with the GPS unit and the victim’s garage door opener.

Deputies said the break-in and theft occurred sometime between 10:30pm Sunday and 7:30am Monday.   No arrests have been made.
