KENLY – A man was charged this week with breaking into a vacant home for sale.
Edwin Ballard Smith Jr., 45, of Glendale Road, Kenly is charged with felony breaking and entering and felony possession of methamphetamine.
Monday night, a realtor was driving by a home they had listed for sale near Kenly and saw the interior lights were on. They contacted the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office to check on the property. When deputies arrived they reportedly found Smith inside.
During his arrest, suspected methamphetamine was allegedly found in his possession. No items were reported missing from the home.
Smith was held on a $10,000 secured bond at the Johnston County Detention Center.
The methamphetamine must be the reason for the smirk on his jail photo. Good job to everyone involved in having this guy put in jail.
The phrase, “how stupid can you be” – is not meant as a challenge!!!
