Johnston County deputies are looking for one or more burglars who forced their way into a Bentonville community home over-the-weekend taking numerous items even a refrigerator and microwave.
The theft occurred sometime between 11:00am Saturday and 10:00am Sunday at a home on Westbrook Lowgrounds Road outside of Four Oaks.
The homeowners reported $24,450 in property was taken from inside the home along with a $4,000 enclosed trailer parked outside. The enclosed trailer could have been used to haul away the items.
Deputies said they found evidence where someone tried to pry open a window then pry marks on a rear door when entry was successfully made into the home. No one was at the residence when the break-in occurred.
Anyone with information about the break-in is asked to contact the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office at 919-989-5000.
