Burglars Turn Off Power Before Breaking Into Convenience Stores

Four Oaks Police and the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office are investigating two convenience store break-ins.  Detectives have not ruled out they may be connected.   In each case, power was turned off to the building before forced entry was made into each business.

Around 2:45am Thursday, power was turned off at the breaker box outside Holt Lake Gas & Grill at 4056 US Highway 301. The suspect or suspects knocked out the glass in the front door and made entry stealing a small amount of cash and an unknown number of lottery tickets.

At 1:30am Sunday, burglars turned off the power at Barefoot’s Country Store at 3295 US 701 South and smashed out the glass in the front door to get inside.  No items were reported missing.

Anyone with information about the break-ins is asked to contact the Four Oaks Police Department at 919-963-3112 or the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office at 919-989-5000.
