Burglary Suspect Shot And Killed

Homeowner Shot But Survives 

Goldsboro Police have identified a burglary suspect who was shot and killed during a home invasion on Monday night.

It happened around 8:30pm at a home on W. New Hope Road.  Police said they were dispatched to a shots fired call and discovered one of the residents, Kevin Hagans, suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

Police said three suspects forced their way into the home and shot Hagans.  One of the residents returned fire striking one of the suspects as he fled. Officers said they found 40 year-old Ryan Allen of Goldsboro in a wooded area near the scene. He had been shot in the pelvic area. He was identified as one of the three burglary suspects.  He was taken to Vidant Hospital in Greenville but died during surgery.

Two other people in the home, Hagans 7 year-old son and another man, were not injured.

Police said they are still investigating the incident.
