Bus Driver Of The Year Focuses On Student Relationships

Johnston County Public Schools named Robert Henningham as the Bus Driver of the Year. Robert Henningham has been recognized by Johnston County Public Schools Transportation Services as the Bus Driver of the Year.

Henningham serves at West Smithfield and Smithfield-Selma High and previously served at South Smithfield Elementary and South Campus Community School.  He is described by his colleagues as a great asset for both the school system and the students in his care.

Henningham is known for taking the time to build relationships with each of his students and their families, and treating every student like they are his own child.

During several instances this school year, Henningham has used his communication skills to keep parents and students informed with changes being made to routes and bus stop times.

Transportation officials said Henningham is an outstanding team player who is willing to help out wherever he is needed. He’s described as a reliable, dependable, and professional person to work with daily.
