Camels Add North Carolina, ECU To Future Football Schedules

Buies Creek – Campbell has added four future football dates, including North Carolina and East Carolina, plus a home and home series with The Citadel.

Campbell will travel to Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium for the first time on September 22, 2022 at East Carolina.

North Carolina becomes Campbell’s first Atlantic Coast Conference opponent on the schedule, with the Tar Heels welcoming the Camels to Chapel Hill on November 4, 2023.

With the additions, Campbell will face at least one FBS opponent in each of the next five seasons, including Troy in 2019, Georgia Southern in 2020 and Liberty in 2021. The Camels also head to Coastal Carolina this season, taking on the Chanticleers on September 15.

Campbell and The Citadel have also agreed to a home and home series, kicking off in Buies Creek on September 22, 2022. The Camels will return the trip on September 9, 2023, meeting the Bulldogs in Charleston, S.C.

The announcement also includes a change in the Camels’ previously announced William & Mary series. Campbell was originally slated to host the Tribe on October 12, 2019, with that date moving to 2023. The Camels will head to Williamsburg, Va. in 2022. Both dates are to be determined.

With the four game additions, Campbell now has 16 future opponents on the books from 2019-23, including four nonconference dates slated for each of the next two seasons.

The Camels, who opened the 2018 season Thursday night (August 30) in front of their 14th sellout crowd at Barker-Lane Stadium since 2013, took a 49-26 over visiting Chowan. CU heads to Georgetown on September 8 for its first road test.
