Campbell MADE Supports Student Athlete Development

BUIES CREEK – Since the start of 2019, Campbell Athletics has partnered with NextPlay to build Campbell MADE – a customized career development program built to support Campbell student-athletes in pursuing their career goals as well as their athletic goals.

Campbell MADE operates within a number of new student-athlete development initiatives, and is led by Assistant Athletics Director Dr. Andrew Carter.

The program kickoff event was held the weekend of July 19-20, and will continue throughout the 2019-20 academic year with a wide range of events meant to equip all of CU’s student-athletes with the knowledge, skills, network and confidence needed to build a meaningful professional life.

The kickoff event included an extensive variety of programming to ensure that there are helpful takeaways for all participants. Programming included specialized business education sessions, a resume writing workshop and engagement with representatives from a variety of different companies. Included in the programming were alumni panel discussions and interactions, providing current student-athletes with perspectives from young alumni.

Additional programming includes a guided resume review session, completed on September 11, and a LinkedIn and Outreach training session on September 30, with more events to come throughout the academic year.
