The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office believe several car break-ins reported on Wednesday are all connected.
Six residents in the Crocker’s Nub Community outside of Kenly reported that someone entered their vehicles Tuesday night on early Wednesday morning taking items. Most of the thefts occurred along Crocker’s Nub Road.
Sheriff’s Captain Jeff Caldwell said all the vehicles had been left unlocked.
A DVD player, GPS unit, jewelry, tools, prescription medication and cash were among the items taken. Altogether the items were valued at about $1,230.00. Captain Caldwell said detectives are investigating the incidents.
Authorities said the thefts occurred in the driveway of the victims homes. Officials said it is important to keep your cars locked at all times and never leave valuables in plain sight.
