DUNN – One person was pinned inside their car after it slammed into the back of a tractor trailer on Interstate 95. The collision, late Wednesday night, occurred near the 75 mile marker just north of Dunn.
Initial reports indicate a passenger car without any headlights had stopped in the left lane of northbound I-95. The tractor trailer began to quickly slow down to avoid a collision when the vehicle when it was struck from behind by a white passenger car. Dunn Emergency Services extricated the occupant from the car before they were transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

Northbound lanes were closed for several hours. The State Highway Patrol is investigating the collision.
