CLAYTON – A man inadvertently drove his silver passenger car into the front of the BP convenience store at Barber Mill Road and Highway 42 West in the Clayton city limits on Saturday.
Moments before the crash, the clerk had just stepped away from the exact location where the car came into the store. She was shaken but not injured. The driver of the car was also uninjured.

The store was closed for about an hour before reopening with caution tape around the damaged area.
The Clayton Fire Department, Clayton Police Department and Johnston County EMS responded.
