Mayor Medlin read a statement at the ceremony from the Lamm Family including his children, Travis Lamm, Lynda Lamm Carroll, and Mickey Lamm.
“Our family is blessed and highly honored by the naming of a section of I-95 as the Carl Lamm Highway. The Lamm family consists of three children and spouses, 7 grandchildren and spouses, and 10 great-grandchildren, with one coming soon. In addition, our mother Marjorie, played a major, positive role in our lives.”
“We are all so proud of our Daddy and “Pa.” We can’t thank you enough for acknowledging the impact he made in our community and state. His Christian faith was of extreme importance to him. Ephesians 3:20 states that God can do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine according to his power that is at work within us. The events of this day are more than any of us could have imagined. God has orchestrated this special blessing for our Daddy.”
“Before he died in August of this year, he learned of the road naming and said “this is an honor.”
“Thank you NCDOT, and all the others who are in this room today who helped make this a reality. The road naming is the pinnacle of a long and fruitful career and a life well-lived to the glory of God. We love you Daddy.”
