South Johnston’s Chase Carroll agreed to play football and baseball at Methodist University during a ceremony held at the school Thursday afternoon.
The three-sport athlete was a first-team selection for this year’s All Record Football Team after leading the Trojans with 817 yards passing and eight total touchdowns. Carroll collected 2,125 yards through the air over the course of his four-year varsity football career.
On the diamond, Carroll was a reliable hitter and starting catcher, helping the Trojans to a 7-7 overall record and 6-4 mark in Greater Neuse River Conference play.
