No serious injuries were reported but two cars were left with heavy damage following a near head-on collision Thursday night on Highway 42 near Interstate 40 in the Cleveland community.
The Highway Patrol said the driver of a grey Chevrolet was speeding when he lost control of his car, spun around, then went into oncoming traffic striking a white Lincoln.
The driver of the Lincoln was taken to Wake Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the Chevy was not injured but was charged by troopers with causing the crash. Photos by John Payne
