Johnston County Commissioners held their first meeting Monday morning with two newly elected members.
Keith Branch replaces Tony Braswell of Pine Level on the board. Larry Wood replaced DeVan Barbour of Benson.
The first order of business was to appoint the chairman and vice chairman of the board.
Commissioner Jeff Carver of Clayton was unanimously selected as board chairman. Commissioners Chad Stewart and Larry Wood made the nomination.
Ted Godwin of Selma was named the vice chairman in a unanimous vote. Commissioners Allen Mims and Keith Branch made the motion.
Chairman Carver said he is human and will make mistakes. He asked for feedback and promised to work hard and be transparent.
