Cats Perish In House Fire

A Johnston County home was heavily damaged following a late night fire.  Firefighters responded to 154 George Wilton Drive, off McLemore Road, around 10:20 PM Wednesday to find the rear of the home engulfed in flames.

A family of four was displaced by the fire. Two cats perished in the blaze.

The Clayton, Cleveland, Elevation, and 50-210 Fire Departments responded to the scene.  The Johnston County Fire Marshal’s Office said Thursday the blaze appears to be accidental.  Photos by John Payne
