Danny Wood, co-owner of Wood’s Muffler on Highway 50, is the February recipient of the Town of Benson’s new “Caught Ya’ Doing Good!” program. Wood has been in business in Benson with his brother, Donald, for over 30 years. He was nominated because of his exceptional service skills and going above and beyond for customers.
Stories surfaced of Wood assisting a motorist who needed to get back on the road quickly. He was able to help the traveler get their vehicle safely back on the road in just a few hours. The traveler even told us that he went back to Wood’s a few weeks later to order a custom part for his classic car restoration. Wood said he loves what he does every day, and to him, “It’s not work if you love what you do.”
Jenny Campbell of Jenny’s Sweet Creations on Main Street donates a box of sweet treats to each new recipient as a thank you for excellent service. The Town of Benson and Jenny’s Sweet Creations will be surprising one customer service employee in Benson every month. The goal is to spread the positive message of Benson as a great place to work, live, and play and that Benson is “the best small town in North Carolina.”
