Cause Of Circle T Arena Fire Still Undetermined

Fire and law enforcement officials continue to investigate the cause of a weekend fire that caused extensive damage to the Circle T Arena at 3110 County Line Road.

Johnston County Fire Marshal Adam Stanley said the cause still remains under investigation.  At 6:21pm Saturday, eight fire departments from three counties responded to a fire at the facility. It took crews four hours to contain.

Neighbors said the building most recently had been rented out for private parties and gatherings.  Stanley said a social event was going on at the time of the fire with 250 to 300 people in attendance.  All made it out unharmed.

According to tax records, the 34,075 square foot building was valued at $614,640.

The Fire Marshal’s Office is being assisted in the investigation by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office.  Anyone who has any information about the fire is asked to contact the Johnston County Fire Marshal’s Office at 919-989-5050.
