The Greater Smithfield-Selma Area Chamber of Commerce recognized top-ranked high school Juniors at its annual Academic Achievers luncheon held February 6th at the Country Club of Johnston County in Smithfield.
J.H. Langdon, who recently retired from the North Carolina House of Representatives, gave inspirational words for the students whose hard work earned the recognition, telling them to stay focused and do the right thing. “The future will be yours,” he said.
Students were able to discuss fields of work and study, including Pharmacy, Engineering, and Entrepreneurship, with local business people and educators, while Outback Steakhouse treated them to a special lunch in the Country Club ballroom.
The Academic Achievers luncheon is a Chamber initiative designed to promote and support academic success.
