The Greater Smithfield-Selma Area Chamber of Commerce will host a reception and forum for Selma municipal candidates on Thursday, October 15th. The 5:30 pm social will be hosted by Chick-fil-A of Smithfield and the forum will begin at 7:00 p.m. The event will be held in the Jernigan Building/Selma Council Room located at 106 East Anderson Street in Selma. There are three candidates for mayor and six for two council seats.
This forum will be facilitated by Marcus Burrell, a local attorney and Public Policy Vice Chair of the Chamber. It will give each candidate an opportunity to share his or her vision for the town and qualifications for their position. There will also be a question and answer period.
Prior to the forum, an informal meet and greet social will be held starting at 5:30 pm. The public is invited to attend.
