The NC Highway Patrol has filed charges against a 24 year-old driver that reportedly caused a head on collision on Buffalo Road about 5 miles north of Selma.
Troopers said a 2000 Saab driven by Dionysios Sebastian Santos, 24, of Fayetteville was traveling northbound on Buffalo Road around 9:30PM last Wednesday night when he crossed the centerline and collided head on with a southbound 2008 Chevrolet operated by Taquitta Levon Pulley, 22, of Clayton. A vehicle traveling south behind Pulley, a 1998 Honda driven by Jermaine Devone Walker, 23, of Kenly, could not stop in time and collided with the rear of the Chevy.
All three drivers including a 5 year-old passenger in the Saab were seriously injured. The injured were transported to Wake Medical Center in Raleigh and Johnston Medical Center in Smithfield.
According to an accident report by Trooper D.K. Douglas II, Santos and Pulley were both traveling at 55 MPH when their vehicles struck head on. Walker was also traveling at 55 MPH when his Honda struck the rear of Pulley’s Chevrolet. The posted speed limit along that stretch of Buffalo Road is 55 MPH.
Santos has now been charged with reckless driving.
