A West Johnston High School bus was involved in a four vehicle collision in front of the school Wednesday afternoon.
The bus was leaving the school campus around 2:40pm when it was struck by a car that failed to stop for a red light at the intersection of Raleigh Road and North Pleasant Coats Road.”
After the impact with the school bus, the car struck two more vehicles before running off the roadway and coming to rest in a ditch.
A total of 7 people were on board the bus. None were injured.
The driver of the car that caused the crash, Casey McNeely of Benson, sustained non-life threatening injuries. She was taken to Wake Medical Center for treatment. The occupants in the other two cars struck by McNeely’s vehicle were not injured.
Trooper T.R. Price cited McNeely with running a red light and for failing to wear a seat belt.
