Charity Fundraiser Being Held Sunday For Medical Mission Trip

Dr. Dean Dornic of Eye Specialists of Carolina stands with a patient he helped during a 2016 medical mission trip to Honduras. The medial team will return to Honduras again this year and will be raising funds for the trip this Sunday, Oct. 1st at The Hall and Gardens at Landmark at 12450 Cleveland Road, Garner.

There will be a Charity Eye Ball Fundraiser this Sunday, October 1st beginning at 5:30PM at The Hall and Gardens at Landmark, located at 12450 Cleveland Road, Garner. The event will feature dinner, dancing, and a silent and mini auction. Tickets are $125 per person.

Proceeds are to benefit a humanitarian project and medical mission trip to Honduras by Dr. Dean Dornic of Eye Specialists of Carolina, which has offices in Smithfield and Cary.

Dr. Dornic and a group of medical volunteers went to remote regions of Honduras last year.  They will return again this November to do eye and general surgery to those who are in desperate need of care.  The Eye Ball Gala will generate funds to help pay for the trip.

In 2016, over 100 surgeries were performed and more than 500 patients received glasses and eye care.  This year, Dr. Chase Campbell, a general surgeon, will be joining the team.  They plan to make this a yearly mission trip to various parts of the world where help is needed.
