Child Dies, Three Hospitalized In Dunn Apartment Fire

DUNN, N.C. — A child died and three other people were hospitalized following a Saturday night apartment fire in Dunn, according to information reported by ABC11.

The fire was reported around 10:53 p.m. in the 1000 block of East Pope Street.

Emergency crews responded to the scene and found the apartment building on fire. Authorities confirmed a child died at the scene. Three other people were transported to an area hospital with injuries. Their conditions have not been released.

The fire displaced approximately 12 residents from the apartment building. The American Red Cross is assisting those who were forced from their homes.

The Dunn Police Department and the Harnett County Fire Marshal’s Office are investigating the cause of the fire.

Additional information, including the identity of the child and the circumstances surrounding the fire, has not been released.
