Child Hides In Closet, Dials 911 After Hearing Intruder

A 12 year-old girl hid in the closet of her home Friday afternoon, as she spoke with 911 dispatchers, after hearing someone try to break into her home.  The young girl then told dispatchers she heard the window open and the suspect gain entry.

Alexis-Marie-Hocutt-FIDeputies arrived on the scene to reportedly find the young girl’s older sister, 18 year-old Alexis Marie Hocutt of Willow Spring, as the person who had gained entry.

Johnston County Sheriff’s Office Captain Jeff Caldwell said Hocutt had vacated her parents home about two weeks earlier and the family had changed the locks on the door.  Hocutt was not suppose to be at the residence, Caldwell said.

The 12 year-old girl was not harmed during the incident on Langston Ridge Drive outside of Angier, in western Johnston County.

Hocutt was charged with breaking and entering and trespassing.
