Chris Allen Hired As First Parks & Rec Director For Archer Lodge

ARCHER LODGE – The Town of Archer Lodge has announced the hiring of their first Parks and Recreation Director. Chris Allen joined the town in January.

“I am excited for the opportunity and look forward to it,” Mr. Allen said. “I obtained my bachelor’s and master’s degree in athletic administration from North Carolina Central University with a minor in Business Administration. I start my career with the City of Durham as a Recreation Specialist in 2007. In 2011 I left Durham to take the Recreation Supervisor position with the city of Rocky Mount where I have worked for the past 11 years ending as the Recreation Services Manager where I oversaw community centers, special populations, and special Olympic programs.”

Allen is currently a Certified Parks and Recreation Professional and serve on a number of boards such the North Carolina Recreation and Parks Association (NCRPA) and North Carolina Black Recreation and Parks Association (NCBRAP).

Allen received a starting salary of $72,500.
