“Christmas In July ” Indoor Yard Sale Benefiting 2017 Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Efforts

The Indoor Yard Sale takes place in Smithfield This Friday And Saturday

In Johnston County, fundraising for Operation Christmas Child happens year-round and Whitley Memorial United Methodist Church in Smithfield will hold a “Christmas in July” Indoor Yard Sale July 28-29 to benefit 2017 shoebox efforts.

Whitley Memorial United Methodist Church is located at 300 Wilson Mills Rd. The indoor yard sale takes place July 28 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and  July 29 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Because of the generosity of donors across the region, which includes Clayton, Smithfield, Selma and other south Triangle towns, 29,727 boxes were collected in 2016 for children suffering from poverty, natural disasters, war, disease and famine. Shoeboxes are packed with fun toys, school supplies, hygiene items—and prayer!

Samaritan’s Purse is an international Christian relief and evangelism organization headed by Franklin Graham. Since 1993, more than 146 million Operation Christmas Child gift-filled shoeboxes have been distributed to children in more than 160 countries and territories.
