American Legion Leonard Moore Post 71 of Clayton, originally chartered in 1919, installed new officerson Thursday night. Rudolph Allen, a member for 64 years and Past Commander of Post 71 (1956-1957), presided over the installation of newly elected officers for the 2015-2016 year.

Before the installation ceremony, Commander Devell Durham read a newspaper article to the audience dated December 1965. The article reflected on the dedication of the Legion building at the current location on Old US 70, where Allen was District 14 Vice Commander. Allen was in attendance of that ceremony 50 years ago.
