CLAYTON – An Eagle Court of Honor ceremony was held on September 23 for Houston Kirk Elarbee of Clayton. Houston is the son of Kirk and Liza Elarbee.
At the age of 7, Houston joined the Cub Scouts as a member of Pack 24 chartered at the Clayton Civitan Club. He earned all of his cub scout ranks and his Arrow of Light in 2016.
Afterwards he joined Troop 33 chartered by Oakland Presbyterian Church in the Cleveland community. He completed The National Youth Leadership Training and earned his Ordeal in the order of the arrow at Nayawin RaR Lodge in the Tuscarora Council. He attended the World Jamboree 2019. In addition, Houston served as Troop 33 Senior Patrol Leader.
Houston is a 2023 Magna Cum Laude graduate of Clayton High School.
Following his father’s passion Houston inspires to be a pilot. Currently, he is in flight school pursuing his life-long passion.
During his Eagle Scout Court of Honor, Houston was presented with an Eagle Scout Good Citizenship Award from Eagle Scout Coordinator (left) Bob Long, Past Commandant and (right) Bo Durham on behalf of the Commandant Bill Dunn Johnston County Marine Corps League Carry-On Detachment 1236.
