CLAYTON – It’s a chance to harvest some great steals and rare finds while adding to your book, music, and movie collections. The Clayton Friends of the Library are preparing to host the 2024 Fall Book Sale.
Explore thousands of gently-used materials for children, teens, and adults at Town Hall , located at 111 East Second Street, during the following times:
- 12 p.m. – 7 p.m., Friday, November 1
- 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., Saturday November 2
Fill a brown paper grocery bag, donated by Lowes Foods, with items at an unbeatable price: just $15 per bag on Friday and $10 per bag on Saturday. Additionally, there will be a table featuring collectible books, each individually priced.
“The Fall Book Sale is more than just a shopping event; it’s a chance for our community to connect through a shared love of literature and learning,” said Ellen Andruzzi, President of the Clayton Friends of the Library. “Every purchase helps us strengthen the library’s offerings, ensuring it continues to serve as a vital resource for everyone.”
The Clayton Friends of the Library host two book sales each year – one in the spring and one in the fall. Together, these events raise close to $10,000 annually to support Hocutt-Ellington Memorial Library’s programs, resources, and services, including the Summer Reading Program, the Local Author Fair, and StoryWalk®.
“The support from our community through these book sales makes a profound difference,” said Library Manager Mel Poole. “Each dollar raised helps us create enriching programs and expand our resources, so we continue to inspire a love of reading and learning in everyone who walks through our doors.”
