The Clayton High School Lady Comets completed their basketball season with a record of 10 wins and 3 losses.  The Comets were undefeated with a 10-0 record against conference opponents this year, including Smithfield Selma High, South Johnston, West Johnston, Cleveland and East Wake.   Unfortunately, their season ended on the road with a loss to Swansboro High in the first round of the state playoffs.

“I am very thankful that even though the team was not able to have summer workouts, preseason workouts and a full season, the team was able to compete in a safe environment,” Coach Marlon Lee said.  “I would also like to thank the Clayton High School administration, parents and community for the support the team got this year!”

Darriona Howard was selected as the Player of the Year, Lacy Strickland received the Sportsmanship Award, and All-Conference honors went to Peyton Sharp, Mederith Robinson and Mackenzie Henninger.
