“The preparation that goes into applying to a service academy takes a tremendous amount of commitment and dedication,” Congressman Rouzer said.  “Dominique Quintero has demonstrated these qualities throughout this rigorous nominating process.  Dominique’s involvement and participation both inside and outside of the classroom make her well deserving of this honor.  Dominique is not only an outstanding swimmer who has participated at the state level; but, she has also been awarded numerous academic distinctions such as AAA Scholar Athlete, National Honor Society and Principal’s List.  Her success is a testament to her hard work, perseverance and patriotic pride, and I’m honored to have nominated her to the U.S. Naval Academy.  I know she will serve our country well.”

Quintero has received All-Conference, All-Academic and NCHSAA State Championship Participation awards in swimming.  She is a member of the Future Farmers of America and the Rotary Interact Club, and volunteers with Friends of the Library and the Clayton Historical Association.
